I’ve been noticing a lot of things lately. Particularly things of interest to those who wish to be better off than they currently are. In other words, people like me. Two fridays past was the climax of a week that pretty much tore me a new ass hole. I delt with it by over thinking everything. It worked. I decided that I can’t be a failure for this logic: A failure is someone who screws up and follows that up by giving up. If you haven’t given up, you aren’t a failure.

That works for me because I’m sort of good at making mistakes. I fuck up a lot. BUT. I learn from it. I probably don’t learn the lessons that i’m supposed to but that doesn’t really matter. I still learn something and get to a state of mind better than I had before.

Anyways, I’m starting to plan for my next trip to Europe. I’m giving myself more time for the planning of this one so I want to map it out and make it better for documenting. Any suggestions on places to go?

Can you tell me what it means to be happy? Try to define it. I’ve been trying to define it for two months north of twenty years now and I’m still unsuccessful. In fact, the pursuit of finding an answer has only presented more questions. Happiness is something that should be experienced by all beings capable of labeling such an emotion. It is what is felt when we are content with the world surrounding us. It means that life is good as and although there are things that could be better, if you had the chance you might not change any of them.
For something that so many billions of us seek, that’s a pretty week definition. I mean sure you could plug in the dictionary definition of happiness and call it good, but what good would that do? It’s one of those words in the English language that can only be defined by using itself in the definition. In other words it’s something that at least so far in human existence, we haven’t found a way to describe it. It’s the sort of thing that when you have it, you can’t describe it except by explaining that you have it.
I’m human and if there’s one thing we do better than anything else, it’s asking questions. I want to ask you a question: What do you think it means to be happy? Can you put a definition on it? Maybe it’s not worth it to ask such questions but I want to anyways. I’m challenging you to put reason where I have failed to find any. I want to see what you think we’re in this for.

Okay so now on to the reason why this post has been titled as it is. Football is really big here. By football, I mean soccer. The best pub to go here for a soccer game is the Celtica. Cheap beer, HD TV, and a good vibe are to be found here. The night previous to this one I managed to get myself proper drunk as they say and upon leaving the establishment at around 1 I got…. lost hahahah.

It wasn’t completely a result of being drunk though. I had ripped my map earlier in the night. I stumbled around awile. Eventually I ended up in a park that I figured I could find on my map. I had only been in the park for a few seconds before I found myself face to face with a man that looked like… Jesus haha. He had hair down to his shoulders and a beard even longer.

When you’re surrounded by ancient cathedrals and a man walks out of the bushes dressed as Jesus, you question what you’re doing in your life hahah. He didn’t smite me though. He didn’t even question my authority to be stumbling around intoxicated at 1 in the morning. He helped me figure out what roads to take and I got home in like ten minutes.

So anyways, give a helping hand to someone. Feel me?

Right after we got we got some breakfast across the street and then sat down on some steps so I could make my shorts. Well while we were sitting there a drunk italian dude was walking by  singing. Of course I starting singing with him and it was pretty bad ass. I had no clue what we were singing but that didnt seem to matter haha. Well about five minutes into our singing he got real serious and started talking to us about life n stuff I think. He kept pointing to Sierra and calling her beautiful [I think] and at random points started crying. It made me uncomfortable and needless to say, we left.

Sorry if that ending didnt meet your expectations, but thats what happened. The whole event was just odd and I wanted to share it.

What are our plans in Italy you want to know? The plan is to hitch hike our way down the coast to get as far south as possible and then work our way back up. We’re hoping to find work on a farm somewhere to get some extra coin in our pocket. Trains from belgium to Italy are expensive. They’re filled with awesome people though. We met a couple from Chile that said if we ever go to Chile we can stay with them. They were very nice and I’m excited to go visit them at some point.

Today the plan is to find ourselves an italian dictionary or speaking guide [Neither of us know how to ask for work in Italian] and possibly a better map. Oh and a watch maybe too so we can actually know what time it is instead of just going to be when it’s dark and waking up when it’s light. My time on the internet’s almost up so I’m gonna go try to send some emails.

I have never been more still in my life. In my mind I felt the shadow we were laying in growing smaller and smaller. Then people got out of the car.

I have no idea how they didn´t notice the giant backpacks laying next to us but they walked right past without a second glance. As soon as they were out of ear shot me and Sierra started cracking up laughing.

I´m still not entirely sure how we got away with it. You know what though? It was fuckin sweet haha.

The keyboards here are way different so sorry if my posts seem to be lagging in anything. It´s been harder to find internet caffes than we expected so far but now we have “local made” maps so it should be easier for the next couple cities. I´ll be posting on here as often as I get the chance about the goings ons of my trip.

Speaking of maps, I learned how to use one haha. We made it here to Gent without tooooo many problems. It´s sort of satisfying being able to navigate yourself across a country!

I´d like to write more but I´ve got “grown up” stuff to deal with before my internet time´s up… Gotta check finances and stuff like that. Hahahaha fuckin sweet.
